COMPETITION
For election of Ombudsperson
Ombudsperson is an independent institution that is governed by principles of impartiality, confidentiality and professionalism.
The Ombudsperson has the competences to investigate complaints received from any natural or legal person related to assertions for violation of human rights envisaged by the Constitution, Laws and other acts, as well as international standards of human rights and international conventions, particularly the European Convention on Human Rights, including actions or failure to act which present abuse of authority.
The Assembly will give special consideration to fulfilling needs of ethnic and gender diversity.
Term of Ombudsperson
Ombudsperson shall be elected for a term of five (5) years, without the right of re-election.
Candidate for Ombudsperson should meet the following requirements:
• should be citizen of the Republic of Kosovo,
• should have higher education,
• should have character, honesty and high moral,
• should be experienced and have distinguished knowledge in the field of human rights,
• should not be sentenced by a final decision for a criminal offence punishable by the legislation of Republic of Kosovo;
• should not exercise function in any political party, a deputy in the legislature of the Assembly of Republic of Kosovo that elects him, or a government cabinet member.
The following documents should be attached to the application form:
• Evidence for education and professional qualification;
• Cover letter;
• Curriculum Vitae (CV - autobiography);
• Evidence that he/she is a citizen of Republic of Kosovo;
• Evidence on work experience;
• Evidence that he/she is not sentenced for a criminal offence.
COMPETITION PROCEDURE
Applications should be submitted not later than 23 January 2014, at 16.00.
